Well Fed Motherhood
"If I want to be a present, playful, joyful mother, I need to be a well fed mother"
"If I want to be present, playful mother, I need to be a well fed mother."
Well Fed Motherhood is a gentle, compassionate programme for mothers who feel exhausted, overstimulated and less present than they want to be. Motherhood asks so much of women at every stage and often depletion feels so familiar, it starts to feel normal. Many mothers feel disconnected from themselves, stuck in cycles of body image struggles, disordered eating, overwhelm or the sense that they are just getting through the day.
Through realistic nourishment, nervous system support and compassionate reflection, Well Fed Motherhood helps women feed their brains and bodies consistently enough to feel more emotionally resourced, more present in motherhood and more able to experience life beyond survival mode.

You don't need to fix yourself, you need to feed yourself
Perhaps you're the mother who...
-
Always makes sure everyone else has eaten before you think about yourself.
-
Finds yourself surviving on coffee, snacks and children's leftovers.
-
Feels constantly tired, yet struggles to switch off.
-
Experiences low mood, anxiety or irritability that seems to come from nowhere.
-
Thinks about food far more than you'd like to.
-
Feels guilty whenever you prioritise your own needs.
-
Has forgotten what genuine hunger, fullness or satisfaction even feel like.
-
Wants to model a healthier relationship with food for your children but doesn't know where to begin.
-
Secretly wonders whether motherhood is supposed to feel this hard.
If you can relate to any of these, you are not doing anything wrong, your body and brain are simply asking for more consistent energy, nutrients and care.
The Well Fed Mother is a gentle, structured way to come back to yourself through nourishment, in a way that actually fits into everyday life, because Dietitian Rachel is not just a Dietitian specialising in disordered eating, women's health and nervous system nourishment, but she is a mother of four children too.

Why being well fed matters
When you are not well fed, it does not just affect your body, it can look like:
-
feeling more overwhelmed by small things
-
less patience with your children, even when you deeply care
-
more food noise, more grazing, more evening eating
-
low mood, irritability or emotional swings
-
struggling to make decisions around food
-
feeling disconnected from your body
This is not a personal failure or character flaw, it is a physiological and nervous system response to not getting enough consistent nourishment. Your brain uses around 20% of your body's energy, so
when meals and snacks are inconsistent, blood sugar fluctuates, sleep is interrupted, stress remains high and your own needs are repeatedly pushed aside, it becomes harder to think clearly, regulate emotions, cope with stress and feel like yourself.
This isn't about simply eating more, it is about understanding how nourishment shapes your brain, nervous system, hormones, mood, energy, decision making and relationship with yourself, your children and your family; because food isn't just fuel, it is information. Every meal sends messages to your brain and nervous system about safety, energy and survival. When those messages become more consistent, so too can your thoughts, emotions and daily experience.
Being well fed supports your brain, your nervous system and your emotional capacity just as much as it supports your physical health, and that changes how your days feel.

You cannot regulate your nervous system when you are not well fed.

Imagine if :
-
You woke feeling more energised and had more stable energy across the day.
-
You stopped feeling guilty for eating lunch ad had fewer intense cravings or. evening urges to eat.
-
You could trust your hunger again and had less anxiety and mood changes.
-
Food became something that supported you rather than something you constantly thought about.
-
You felt confident in the food choices you were making without overthinking
-
Your children grew up watching a mother who nourished herself as naturally as she nourished them.
-
You had more patience and felt less touched out.
-
You had more capacity to regulate big emotions from tiny humans.
-
You had more presence for your hobbies, friendships and self care.
That is what becoming well fed can make possible.
"I just wanted to send a message thanking you for all your knowledge and passing it on in such a beautiful way."
"Even with the couple of months of making changes I am noticing such improvements in myself and finally enjoying food again in a positive way and noticing moments of joy and presence with the children."
"The whole experience has been amazing how much I’ve learnt."

This has been built not just from clinical knowledge and supporting hundreds of women, but from Dietitian Rachel's lived experience of motherhood, where time, energy and capacity can feel very limited.
